Why are Rich Pins important?
Pinterest will show little information about the pin or you would have to manually add them to the pin. However, Rich Pins adds more information that too without you manually entering the information. It will pick up the meta data or first few lines of your article (depends on your setup) and your reader will get a taste of the article on the pin itself.
This generates more interest to the user and they are more likely to visit the site by clicking on the ‘Read It’ button.

Paste the url in the validate option for the page that you want Rich Pins for the images for page. You can do this for site wide as well.
Complete the setup and then after your website or your blog is validated then go to Yoast SEO and click on post and then add new. You will see that below the editor this option for SEO will be present. You can now add ‘Meta description’ and other options to create the pin for the article.
After you fill the ‘Meta description’ the pins that you will create would have the brief description under your pins. Now you can go to the Pinterest and pin from your website or blog. The brief description will appear under your pins. For example see the image below and see the description highlighted. You will notice the ‘Read it’ button as well.
This will also help your content, post and pages to rank better by search engines.
