Sometimes the most basics are missed and ignored to the extent that we need a wake-up call triggered by an event.
Grooming is very essential and is not just for metro-sexual but all.
When you meet people they access your personality based on the overall presentation of yourself and you do the same to them. How you can smell great all the time and make people assess you to be a well-groomed individual? If you want answer to this and want your personality to improve and your confidence then you are at the right place.
Daily routine is not so boring if you give it a new lease of life by some tweaking of daily chores. When you get up in the morning, your system is out of water and needs it badly. A glass of warm water before anything will help your health. Once you are hydrated inside, go for a walk or exercise. Consult your physician before starting any physical regimen.
Taking bath everyday at least once is good for you skin and it flushes the pore’s toxins. So, take a bath and reach the parts of your body that are prone to sweat and bacterial growth. Where ever the skin folds it harbors bacteria, like underarms for an example.
Use of mild soap does help in eliminating body odour.
Bathing is also relaxing and you feel energetic and fresh to start your day. This will reduce your stress level, thus you will not release stress hormones. The stress hormones make you sweat more and thus stink more. Ever wonder what does spa’s do. They make you bath (a big part of routine in a spa) lavishly using all sorts of bath salts, oils and massages.
You can add some bathing salt to water and apply oil to your hair. Massage yourself with good oil and then take a bath and shampoo. Use oil to massage with the same note of fragrance that you are going to use in your perfume or cologne or deodorant. Before starting to use any bathing salts you should consult your doctor.
Layers it is
Once you are out of bath moisturize with a neutral lotion or oil with or without any smell that’s not too strong otherwise you will end up with lots of different smell that may not go well. Oil on the skin slows the production of bacteria if the skin is clean and you take a daily bath. If your skin has a little oil on it, it will help the fragrance stay and behave better.
Now add some fragrance not strong but pleasant and only as little as possible.
Spraying directly with little or no distance between the spray and skin will heat up the molecules of the fragrance and they will loose their smell fast and react with the bacteria. Put a distance between the spray and the skin and let the spray settle on its own on the skin and do not force (too close to skin) spray it.
Put some on the places that are in direct contact with the air and it will last much longer like your arm or neck. They are exposed to the air and are less likely to sweat unless you are exercising.
What you eat is what you are
What we eat and drink effects us in many ways and how we smell is one of them. Eating healthy herbs and spices is good and should be consumed.
What I am trying to say here is that your diet should have a balanced approach. Eat a fruit or a salad everyday and almost before every meal. This way lot of dietary fiber will be in your system and it will also help you get near to the daily water goal that your body needs. The water in your body has a cooling effect and aids circulation of the nutrients.
Fruit, vegetables, fresh juices, salads and water remove the toxins from our bodies and this reflects on our body smell as well. Clogged pores and accumulated toxins will harbor the bad bacteria and will make us sweat more and smell bad.
Avoid too much caffeine. Two to three cups of either tea or coffee are enough in 24 hours.
Hair all over
We get a haircut and fell refreshed. Unkempt hair and unclean hair can play a spoilsport the way we give out our body smell. If possible keep body hair short and clean. Minimum body hair means minimum mess and smell. Keep your underarms free of hair.
Use good electric trimmer for this purpose or visit a salon or a spa. There are rechargeable trimmers that are available in the market.
Mani and Pedi
Manicure and pedicure are not for women alone, they are for everyone. Do it at home or at a salon but take care of them. Nails tend to accumulate dead skin, dirt etc. at the corners. Proper trimming and removal of dead skin and what not from these areas stop the bacterial growth and is healthy. You might not notice but if you observe, these part of the body smell bad if you ignore them.
Take care of oral
You need to have clean teeth and clean tongue. After every meal do the gargles and after 30 minutes to 1 hour drink a glass of water for better digestion and oral health.
Use natural mouthwash or eat fennel seeds after the meals to freshen your breath.
Change your clothes
Always change your clothes when they are sweaty or dirty. After the gym take a shower. Dirty clothes or sweaty clothes will promote bacterial growth.
Always change your socks regularly. Keep your shoes sweat free and use shoe powder if your feet sweat. Do the same with your inner wears.
